Upon finalizing our decision to have me relocate to Italy, a significant chapter of my life unfolded. The process involved numerous complex tasks, including obtaining a visa, enrolling in a language school, selling my house, and liquidating my possessions. This period was a practical crash course in project management, where I found myself simultaneously overseeing multiple large projects, coordinating various businesses and contractors, all while adhering to stringent budgets and timelines. Additionally, I became adept at appointment and paperwork management, and liaising with government offices and regulatory bodies. My role also entailed recruiting and managing reliable workers and mastering the art of self-management and effective communication.
These experiences have honed my organizational and project management skills, fostering an exceptional ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities concurrently, while maintaining efficiency and composure under demanding circumstances. I am eager to apply the invaluable skills and knowledge gained during this transition period to contribute positively to your organization's success.
Health & Well-Being Career Break
Jun. - Sep. 2022

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I experienced a long period of isolation while working remotely in a new, small town. This isolation, in tandem with a series of personal hardships, took a toll on my well-being, prompting me to reevaluate my life's direction and recover from the challenges brought about by the pandemic. As part of this personal journey, I pursued self-improvement by obtaining a certification in organization from the National Association of Productivity and Organization (NAPO). Additionally, I was given the opportunity to move to Italy and transition to a new life there. Since September, at the end of this period, my primary focus has been on the process of integrating into a new country and culture. These experiences have provided me with valuable insights and adaptability, empathy, and emotional intellegence, which I believe can be assets in my professional life. I look forward to discussing how my unique experiences and skills can contribute to your organization's success.
Sabbatical
Moving to a new country where I was unfamiliar with the local language presented a substantial challenge. I made the deliberate choice to learn Italian, dedicating five days a week to language school in Lucca, Tuscany, Italy for a period of six months.
When I initially arrived, my Italian vocabulary was limited to basic pleasantries such as "please," "thank you," and "hello." However, through persistent effort and unwavering dedication, I finished my six months of schooling studying at a B1 level of proficiency in just half a year. This accomplishment brought immense satisfaction as it enabled me to express myself, establish meaningful relationships, and actively engage in the local community.
The experience of learning Italian in this immersive way has not only enhanced my linguistic abilities but has also equipped me with valuable skills. It has reinforced my adaptability, accelerated learning, and proficiency in bridging language and cultural gaps. I am enthusiastic about integrating these newfound capabilities into my professional journey, where they can contribute significantly to my skill set.
